While we have carried on with the business of education this week at Stowe High School, it has been in the heavy context of the senseless loss of five young lives last weekend. I, along with Athletic Director Joanna Graves, and Booster Club President Lisa Carey have been seeking to find a balance between maintaining opportunities for SHS students to get together during a difficult time, and, respecting the plans of Harwood families.
Thus, I have made adjustments to our weekend schedule as follows:
- Friday afternoon we will still have our Pep Rally; but, we will offer a tribute to Harwood High School.
- Friday evening we will still have the dance scheduled from 8-10:30 (doors close at 8:30). Our students have largely expressed the desire to be able to get together this evening.
- All games and Raider Day activities at Stowe High School are cancelled on Saturday. One of the Harwood families has services scheduled for their son that day in Stowe. We will work to reschedule for another time. The exception is the Cross-Country Meet. If individuals wish to attend they may and ride the middle school bus.
